Here’s a fun and educational activity for your kids. This simple craft is perfect for young learners to enjoy while they work on their creativity and develop essential skills. By coloring, cutting, and assembling their very own pear house, children will not only have a blast but also practice important developmental tasks.

Skills Children Will Learn

Through this pear house craft, children will learn and practice several key skills:

  • Fine Motor Skills: Handling coloring tools and scissors will help improve hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Color Recognition: Choosing colors for their pear house allows children to explore and identify different colors.
  • Following Instructions: By following the steps to color, cut, and glue, children learn to understand and follow a sequence of instructions.
  • Creativity: This activity encourages children to use their imagination as they decide how to decorate their pear house.

How to Use the Printable

  1. Print the Template: Start by printing out the pear house printable. Make sure you have enough copies for each child participating.
  2. Color: Give the children an array of coloring tools, such as crayons, markers, or colored pencils, and let them color their pear house as they wish.
  3. Cut: Once the coloring is complete, children should carefully cut out the pear house pieces along the lines. Adult supervision is recommended for younger children who are still mastering the use of scissors.
  4. Glue: After all the pieces are cut out, it’s time to assemble the pear house. Children can use glue to stick the pieces together to create their pear house.

My Favorite Items I Use For Printables

  • Copy Paper & Cardstock: Depending on what project or worksheet I’m doing with my kids, I will always have copy paper and cardstock. Cardstock is more durable than copy paper.
  • Crayons: Of course for coloring pages and other worksheets, I will always have crayons.
  • Markers: Crayola’s washable markers are one of my favorites. The colors are vibrant and they easily wash off of my kids hands and my table if any accidental marks happen.
  • Colored pencils: These can be used for more detailed coloring.
  • Laminating pouches: For worksheets i want to use over and over i like to put them in laminating pouches.
  • Laminating machine: If you use the laminating pouches, you will need a laminating machine to seal the pouch.
