Thanksgiving Printable Games
Thanksgiving is one of those days when everyone ends up sitting around together for hours, so having a few games ready can definitely help. They’re nice to pull out while dinner is cooking, after everyone eats, or when the kids start asking what there is to do.
These Thanksgiving printable games are easy because most of them just need a printed page and a pencil. I included a mix of word games, silly games, trivia, and quieter activities, so you can pick a few depending on who will be at your Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving A-Z Race
For this game, everyone tries to come up with a Thanksgiving-related word for every letter of the alphabet.
Some letters will be easy, and then everyone gets stuck once they reach Q, X, or Z. You can play individually or put everyone into teams if you have younger kids playing too.
The person or team with the most unique answers wins.
Thanksgiving Scattergories
Thanksgiving Scattergories is another easy word game that works well with a group.
Give everyone the same categories and have them write down an answer for each one. When you’re finished, go around and compare. If two people wrote the same answer, neither person gets a point for it.
This one gets more fun when everyone starts defending the questionable answers they came up with.
Thanksgiving Finish the Phrase
For something a little less competitive, try a Thanksgiving Finish the Phrase game.
Everyone fills in the phrases on their own and then reads their answers out loud afterward. You can see who came up with the same answers and which responses nobody else thought of.
I like games like this when you have different ages playing because there isn’t really any skill involved.
Thanksgiving Word Unscramble
Give everyone a Thanksgiving Word Unscramble and see who can figure out all of the words first.
The printable in my bundle includes words like Thanksgiving, turkey, gravy, green beans, cranberries, pumpkin pie, sweet potatoes, harvest, pilgrims, November, and gratitude.
There’s also an answer key, which is helpful when everyone gets stuck on the same word.
Thanksgiving Candy Dice
If you have some leftover Halloween candy sitting around, you can turn it into a Thanksgiving game.
Everyone starts with four pieces of candy and takes turns rolling a die. The number they roll tells them what to do with their candy, and the first person to collect 10 pieces wins.
It’s really simple, but adding candy somehow makes people take it much more seriously.
Thanksgiving This or That
This or That is probably one of the easiest Thanksgiving printable games because you don’t really have to explain anything.
Everyone chooses between Thanksgiving and fall-themed options and then compares their answers. You can have people fill out their own pages or read each choice out loud and have everyone answer together.
This is also a good one to leave at the table if you want something people can do while they’re waiting for dinner.
THANKFUL Word Game
For this game, everyone gets the word THANKFUL and tries to make as many smaller words as possible using only those letters.
Set a timer for a few minutes and compare answers when time is up. If you want to make it more competitive, cross out any word that someone else also wrote.
The person with the most unique words left wins.
Thanksgiving Think Fast
Think Fast gives everyone a Thanksgiving category and challenges them to come up with three answers as quickly as possible.
The printable has 10 categories, including Thanksgiving traditions, types of pies, Thanksgiving foods, decorations, activities, harvest symbols, autumn leaf colors, parts of a turkey, green vegetables, and football teams.
You can play individually or split everyone into teams.
What’s Your Turkey Name?
This one is just silly, which is exactly why I’d include it.
Everyone uses the first letter of their first name and their birth month to find their turkey name. The printable mixes names like Henny, Snood, Gobbler, Gravy, Puffy, and Peep Peep with endings like Long Legs, Fancy Tail, Wing Flapper, McTurkey, Four Feathers, and Yamster.
Go around afterward and have everyone share what they got.
I’m Grateful For
Not every printable has to be a competition.
The I’m Grateful For page gives everyone a place to write about the things they’re thankful for. Kids who don’t want to write much could draw pictures instead.
This is a nice one to leave at the kids’ table or save for later in the day when everyone needs something quieter.
Thanksgiving Price Is Right
For Thanksgiving Price Is Right, everyone tries to guess how much different Thanksgiving items cost.
Have everyone make their guesses before revealing the actual prices. Whoever gets closest earns the point.
You can play this as one big group, which makes it an easy option when you have a lot of family over.
Thanksgiving Trivia
Thanksgiving trivia works for kids and adults, especially if you put different ages together on teams.
The printable bundle includes 10 multiple-choice Thanksgiving trivia questions along with an answer key. Read the questions one at a time or let everyone complete their own sheet before checking the answers.
I wouldn’t reveal answers as you go if you’re playing competitively. Make everyone commit to their answers first.
Thanksgiving Fact or Fiction
For Fact or Fiction, everyone decides whether each Thanksgiving statement is true or false.
The printable has 10 statements and an answer key. You can have everyone mark their answers on paper or read the statements out loud and have the whole group answer.
This is another one that works well in teams if you have younger kids playing with adults.
Thank You Around the World
This printable is a little different from the other games.
Players try to match different ways of saying thank you with the correct languages. Once everyone has finished, use the included answer key to see how many they got right.
You could also go back through the answers together and try saying each one out loud.
Thanksgiving Word Search
A Thanksgiving word search is good to have around when you want something that doesn’t require everyone to play together.
The one in the bundle includes words like celebration, November, pilgrim, wishbone, gratitude, Thanksgiving, cranberries, pumpkin, turkey, stuffing, tradition, fall, and feast.
Print a few copies and leave them with pencils at the kids’ table. There’s an answer key included too.
Thanksgiving Riddles
Thanksgiving riddles are easy to pull out without setting up another full game.
Read each riddle out loud and give everyone a chance to guess before sharing the answer. You can keep score, play in teams, or just see what everyone comes up with.
The printable bundle includes 10 Thanksgiving riddles along with the answers.
Get the Thanksgiving Printable Games Bundle
If you’d rather have the games ready to print instead of making them yourself, I put together a Thanksgiving Family Games Printable Bundle with all of these games and activities in one place.
It includes Thanksgiving A-Z Race, Scattergories, Finish the Phrase, Word Unscramble, Candy Dice, This or That, the THANKFUL Word Game, Think Fast, What’s Your Turkey Name?, I’m Grateful For, Price Is Right, Trivia, Fact or Fiction, Thank You Around the World, Word Search, Riddles, and several other Thanksgiving games.
You definitely don’t have to use every page on Thanksgiving. I’d print a few that fit your family, put some pencils out, and keep a couple of extras ready in case everyone wants another game later.
